Title: Will they see us?

Media: Wood, Ochre, Acrylic, 22 pieces Location: Bondi Sydney

The exhibition of sculptures in Bondi, Sydney has become the world’s biggest and in 2008 I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to exhibit my work there and also in Cottesloe WA.

From this I have also been invited to exhibit my piece in Denmark in 2009.

Meeting Prince Fredrick and Princess Mary in Denmark

This was a rare chance for me to create work without any artists brief.  The carvings of people here represent the many aboriginal people from across the country who were in some ways unseen when settlement happened.  I gave it the title “Will they see us?”  It was a great opportunity to speak to an audience of up to 500,000 people in Sydney through my artwork.

Steel Location: Smiths Lake. North Perth

This work has been done with my husband Tony and it is at the start of a heritage trail in inner Perth city.

The small lake has pipes which water is channeled in and out through. We have reflected this in the flowing water appearance of the steel supported by pipes.
The four stages of the use of the site are represented by the cut-outs.

From indigenous use, to being used as the city dump, then a Chinese market garden and later for the gymnastics and sporting uses in recent years.
